Service to others is an important component of life at Agnes Scott, and we encourage you to get involved in helping others. The Office of Community Service sponsors at least four Saturday volunteer opportunities during the academic year, as well as service trips during spring break.

Opportunities in Atlanta
Numerous organizations throughout metro Atlanta need volunteers—from AID Atlanta to the YWCA. You can find information about these organizations in the Office of Religious Life and on the Agnes Scott intranet.

Opportunities Outside Atlanta
Students participate in projects outside Atlanta, such as Lollie’s Spring Break in March.

Chaplain-Sponsored Activities
The chaplain sponsors ongoing and one-time opportunities to volunteer in metro-Atlanta , some with religious affiliation, others with none.

The FaithWorks Service Abroad Experience
FaithWorks is a faith-based Christian service experience offered through a partnership among the Office of the Dean of Students, the Office of Experiential Learning, the Department of Religious Studies and the Office of Religious Life. This hands-on opportunity provides undergraduate students with a powerful faith experience in an international setting. Past trips have included Tanzania and Cuba.

The Volunteer Board
The Volunteer Board is an umbrella organization that seeks representatives from each student service organization and other interested individuals. It helps student organizations plan effectively for volunteer opportunities.
