After trailing by as many as 22 points to Salem College in their season-opener on Sunday, the Agnes Scott basketball team rallied back to cut the deficit to seven points in the second half.

Unfortunately, Agnes Scott could not maintain the torrid pace and fell by a score of 80-70. Kimberly Reeves paced the Scotties with 32 points, including 10-of-11 from the free-throw line. She also grabbed eight rebounds.
The loss drops the Scotties' overall and conference record to 0-1. Head Coach Tony Ciccone said there were many lessons to be learned in the debut.
"I was proud of the way we battled back, especially being on the road in a tough place to play," Ciccone said. "We will learn from this and continue to improve as a team. The effort of Kimberly Reeves in this game was outstanding."
The Scotties return to action on Friday and Saturday as they travel to compete in the Emory Tip-Off Tournament. Agnes Scott faces Covenant College on Friday at 8 p.m. at Emory. A win would place the Scotties in the championship game at 8 p.m. on Saturday, while a loss would have the Scotties playing in the consolation game at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
