Each year, the Agnes Scott Alumnae Association recognizes outstanding alumnae in four categories. Our 2008 Outstanding Alumnae Award recipients are:
- Hazel Ellis ’58, Service to the College. Recognizing an alumna who has exhibited a strong level of interest in and support for Agnes Scott College.
- Betty Ann Brooks '42 and Faith Chao '61, Service to the Community. Recognizing an alumna who has displayed outstanding service to the community, locally or globally.
- Katherine Mitchell '68, Distinguished Career. Recognizing an alumna who has achieved continued excellence in her chosen profession.
- Jo Cranford Hodges '00, Outstanding Young Alumna. Recognizing an alumna who has graduated within the last 20 years for early competence in her chosen field or area of service and exceptional promise for the future.
Nominate Yourself or Someone You Know
If you or someone you know has excelled in one of these categories, please take the time to complete our nomination process. Nominations are due by October 2.

- Send a letter of nomination, along with supporting documents (resume, letters from friends or community leaders, newspaper clippings or other references) to the Office of Alumnae Relations, 141 E. College Ave., Decatur, GA 30030, or via e-mail to alumnae@agnesscott.edu. Be sure to include the nominee’s name, class year and the award for which you are nominating her. We also need you, as a nominator, to include your name, class year, telephone number and e-mail address.
- It is very important that your nomination be accompanied by supporting documents such as a resume and/or clippings or articles about the nominee’s accomplishments. The Award Selection Committee is not responsible for researching a nominee’s qualifications. Nominations submitted without supporting documents will not be accepted.
- Nominations must be received by October 2.
- Winners are recognized and receive their awards during Alumnae Weekend.
