Dual Degree Program in Nursing
Emory University
Agnes Scott College and the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing at Emory University offer a program in which students may earn both the bachelor of arts degree from Agnes Scott College and the bachelor of science in nursing degree from Emory University. Students enrolled at Agnes Scott College who wish to prepare for a career in nursing may pursue a three-year liberal arts curriculum at Agnes Scott and, upon transfer to Emory University, may in two years complete requirements for the bachelor of science in nursing from Emory. The three-year pre-nursing program of study developed by the Agnes Scott College faculty, in consultation with the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing, will consist of a minimum of 92 semester hours (including AP and IB credits) of coursework accepted at Agnes Scott, and will include the general education courses required for the nursing curriculum at Emory and for the B.A. degree at Agnes Scott. Upon successful completion of the dual degree requirements at Agnes Scott and of requirements for the bachelor of science in nursing degree at Emory, the student in the dual degree program will be awarded the bachelor of arts degree from Agnes Scott College as well as the bachelor of science in nursing degree from Emory University.
Dual Degree Program in Engineering
Georgia Institute of Technology
Agnes Scott College and the Georgia Institute of Technology’s College of Engineering offer a program in which students may earn both the bachelor of arts degree from Agnes Scott College and the bachelor of science in engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology. Students enrolled at Agnes Scott College may pursue a three-year liberal arts curriculum at Agnes Scott and, upon transfer to Georgia Institute of Technology, may in approximately two years complete requirements for the bachelor of science in engineering from Georgia Tech. The three-year pre-engineering program of study developed by the Agnes Scott College faculty, in consultation with the Georgia Institute of Technology College of Engineering, consists of a minimum of 90 semester hours (including AP and IB credits) of coursework accepted at Agnes Scott, and includes the general education requirements for both Agnes Scott and the engineering program at Georgia Tech. Upon successful completion of the program, the student will receive the Bachelor of Arts degree from Agnes Scott, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in a field of engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology. Students may select from the following engineering fields at Tech: Aerospace, Biomedical, Chemical and Biomolecular, Civil and Environmental, Electrical and Computer, Industrial and Systems, Materials Science, Mechanical or Polymer, Textile and Fiber.
Dual Degree Program in Art and Architecture
Washington University in St. Louis
Students may combine three years of liberal arts studies at Agnes Scott with four years of specialized work in architecture at Washington University in St. Louis for a combined undergraduate/graduate program. Upon completing the three years at Agnes Scott and the first year of architectural studies, she then receives her Bachelor of Arts degree from Agnes Scott. She then has the option of pursuing further study in architecture by making application to the graduate program. Completion of this three- to three-and-a-half-year program leads to a professionally accredited Master of Architecture degree.
