A Tradition of Academic Excellence
Agnes Scott College is highly regarded for its intellectual rigor and academic excellence. This tradition extends today to our growing number of graduate and post-baccalaureate programs.
Reflecting the mission and strengths of our undergraduate liberal arts program, our graduate and post-baccalaureate programs offer unique opportunities for women and men to pursue their greater professional and personal goals. With the college's century-old history of teacher training, our master of arts in teaching programs immerse individuals in their fields, sensitize them to cultural influences and learning abilities and provide them with the tools and techniques that engage and inspire students. Our post-baccalaureate programs are designed to prepare adults for specific career choices.
Full-Time and Part-Time Options
Agnes Scott offers both full-time and part-time schedules for the master of arts in teaching programs. The full-time 12 month programs begin in the summer and end in the following spring. The part-time model is designed to accommodate full time work schedules, and may be completed in 24 months. Both options require field experience work in the public schools, including a twelve week full time student teaching internship during the last semester. If you are interested in obtaining an M.A.T. while teaching with provisional certification, please contact Doug Talbott at 404-471-5168.
An Ideal Setting for Learning
All this takes place in an ideal setting for learning. Students in our graduate and post-baccalaureate programs enjoy small classes with personalized attention from a distinguished faculty. Our total student body is small (slightly more than 1,000) yet diverse (from 30 countries). And our vibrant, 100-acre wooded campus, located within on of Atlanta's historic neighborhoods, is just minutes from the cultural, entertainment and recreational attractions of an international city.
