What Will I Study in the Psychology Program?
As a psychology student, you’ll study a variety of areas within the discipline, from social psychology to developmental, assessment, cognitive neuroscience, abnormal and physiological psychology.

Our experienced faculty will guide your study of human and animal behavior. And, you’ll have immediate access to labs; no waiting in line behind graduate students.

As an alternative to the standard psychology major, you may also choose to study the interdisciplinary, student-designed major in biopsychology.

Will I Have Access to Research Opportunities and Internships?
Absolutely. More than half our students participate in a field experience. You’ll gain valuable knowledge with hands-on opportunities.

Agnes Scott students have interned with:

  • Industrial/organizational psychologists at Development Dimensions International, one of the top five industrial/organizational consulting corporations in the U.S.
  • Forensic psychologists at the Metro Regional Youth Detention Facility in downtown Atlanta
  • Sports psychologists with the Washington Mystics basketball team
  • Neuroscientists at the Yerkes Primate Research Center

Who Will You Become?
Ultimately, psychology students at Agnes Scott become critical thinkers, problem solvers and effective communicators. You will take these sought-after skills into the psychology career of your choosing.
